Hi list,

I am a new Apex user and want to put in a good word about the manual and the apex help. I got my Apex in July and have to admit I sometimes go back to the old pac mate, where I keep a copy of the Apex manual, since I am more familiar with that older technology; but I'm using the Pac Mate less often these days. One of the reasons I chose the Apex is because after downloading the manual, I found it accessible and it explains things quite well. There's a lot in there, and I've learned a lot. Most of the time, the built-in help really does help, although sometimes it doesn't, as when I was figuring out how to get to files in a directory tree; (press enter when you're at the lowest level.) I copied the command summary into a separate file since it's taking a while to learn the commands. One thing I've done recently is change the thumb key sequence to advance, back, previous, next, so the Apex works a little like a braille Lite with an advance bar on the left side.

Thanks to Humanware for putting so much work into the documentation and help. I wrote technical books during part of my career, and it takes a lot of precision and work.

Mary
