MJ,

Just a few random thoughts regarding your post to the list.

I can't answer your main questions but I know you can get your Dictionary license back if you lose it. You can go to license.humanware.com, use your e-mail address and Apex serial number to log in, and it will point you to all the licenses you have and let you download the keys if your licenses need keys. Then you can go to the support page of the Humanware site and get the licenses if necessary.

Alternatively, you can use the backup function to backup all your files to an SD card or thumb drive. This would be much easier since you could then restore them after formatting your Apex. I'm fairly sure it backs up all the system files; I checked mine last week after doing an incremental backup. The one problem with incremental backups is that it won't erase old stuff, so the backup won't be a mirror of your drive if you still have old stuff on the backup drive that you deleted on the Apex.

I hope the problem is with Microsoft's code and not the Apex's. I hope you don't have to format your Apex.

The Microsoft file I have on my 64-bit machine is drvupdate-am.exe, and the file size is 12,749 KB. I installed it a few months ago. I still have it and can send it to you if it's different than what you used. Yours might be more recent, since I installed it last July. I've never used it to sync anything; just copied files, although the copy process was so slow I just put everything on an sD card and copy from the PC to the card or vice versa; it's much faster.

As I said though, I don't need a partnership so have never tried setting that up.

Mary
