Yes. Technically, pairing is never lost, it is just that the apex is not in terminal mode. This is made clear when you go to type something on the iPod and no keyboard appears, because the iPod still thinks the terminal is active. Deactivating it involves turning off bluetooth on one device or the other or, and far easier, just locking then unlocking the iTouch with the apex not in terminal mode. If no terminal is found when the iTouch first searches, it won't pair.
