Hi,
I am learning how to use the Apex with JAWS as a braille display.
I have used this feature occasionally, but haven't really done so
extensively, more just to set things up and get an introduction
to this feature. I connect my BN to the laptop for things like
syncing and using Keyview, but when I work on something using
both devices, I use both independent of each other. I developed
an ear infection last week and it's been bad enough, that I have
found it necessary to use this feature. When I use it either
with translation on or off, by pressing space with u on the BT
keyboard, if I try to type BrailleNote, it will be translated as
BRAILLEATION. I have JAWS set for contracted braille for both
input and output. I still want this feature, but how do I make
sure everything gets translated correctly into text?
I normally read documentation thoroughly, but to be honest, I
just haven't got the patience. I don't mean to be that harsh,
I'm usually patient with technology, but I haven't been well
lately. I am on medication, but still have a while to go. What
is the quickest way to learn how to use Apex as a braille display
with Jaws? Hopefully I should be better by the end of the week,
but I need to get some important things done and I'm trying to
give my ears a break from the audio as much as possible. On the
positive side, I just wanted to give some feedback. I'm really
pleased you have the choice of having speech or braille, or both,
because I have been able to choose when to try speech, based on
how I feel and when I don't feel up to it, I can turn all sound
off. I'm grateful for such a feature.
Thanks for your help.
Alana
