Hi,
Okay, here we go: if I understood your picture right, you wish to create a table with five columns and six rows (including header row), right? And if you wish to put numbers on the first column of each row, you might want to label the top-left cell in Excel (A1) as "number" to allow you to see the ordering. As for your query: did you try creating a custom database? If yes, were you able to add and lookup a couple test records? If you went't able to create one, let me know so I can either give you more detailed instruction or send you the database definition according to your specifications. As for Excel end, on the top row, label the header fields that you've described, including the number field's title. Then save this spreadsheet as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file and import it to a database in KeySoft (you need to create a database with same number of header labels or greater on the BN before doing this, as part of the import process deals with assigning column info to correct field names). And when importing, say "yes" when asked if the top line contains field names to ensure correct matching.
Any other comments?
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] KeyBase

Hi,

Yesterday I had posted to the listserv a query regarding the use of KeyBase. In an effort to be more specific in my quest to learn the in's and out's of it, I am trying to figure the easiest way to create my own database (not one already listed in the BN) and then use it in MS Excel, finally to do the opposite where I create one in MS Excel and then use it in KeyBase.

For example, the column headers might be; Element, Positive/Negative, Atomic Weight, Lewis Structure. The rows would be listing 1-5.

Any suggestions on making this a more seamless process would be great as I've had mixed results in trying this on my own.

Thanks!

Byron
