I have not noticed a delay like that. Sometimes, when writing a relatively long email, the input will lag considerably, but pausing for a bit usually sorts it out, or re-focusing on the edit field. I am using 9.2, but I don't think that should matter. Still, it might be worth a call or email to hw support to ask if this is a known 9.1 issue.
