Hi folks,
The developers of BrailleNote Users website is proud to present one of the exciting releases of the site yet - featuring long-awaited tutorial and a new podcast on one of the many resources for obtaining books. So what's new in February 2012 edition of www.braillenoteusers.info? * Using Web Braille: A new podcast has been posted to Media Center describing how to use Web Braille and to download books using a BrailleNote. * KeySoft 8.1: a new news item has added to News Center detailing what's new in 8.1 and a link to HW's website has been provided. * Article edits: thanks to new feature in 8.1, some of the articles were updated, namely procedure for opening PDF's on both mPower and Apex. Now to the most exciting announcement of all: A few years ago, a number of BrailleNote users discovered that they can change system files on their BrailleNotes if they place newer files on a special directory. In particular, this "hack" allows BrailleNote users to "turn" their BrailleNote into a machine of their choosing, while keeping the functionality of their units. Now, the long-awaited tutorial on how to accomplish this can be found online thanks to an article written by one of the users (availible in "Useful Articles" section under misc category), with a sample sound pack availible for download from our Frogram Library - a sound pack which allows a BrailleNote to play the sounds heard from Braille Sense Plus. To find out more on this tutorial and to find out how you can open PDF's on the mPower (and have a listen to how you can download favorite books from Web Braille), go to www.braillenoteusers.info. See ya there! If you have any comments on our site, simply fill out our contact form or send an email to [email protected]. Thanks.
Sccincerely,
Joseph Lee
