Yeah, thanks. I just don't like it when all I was doing is reading a book and the charge quickly disappears even with the WiFi being off at all times.

Hi, it also depends on what storage device you are using at the time. For
example if you are working off a hard drive it would use more power then if
you were working from your flash drive or an SD card.

I haven't had any issues with my power level going down fast. However I did
get a scare the other day, I had only been using my Apex for a short time
when I started getting the battery is critical message. Since I had charged
it up over night the night before I thought this shouldn't be happening.
Then I remembered we had our power go out for an hour that morning while my
Apex was ment to be on charge and it was also downloading emails at the same
time. I never thought to check the gage before leaving for work. However I
was able to save some power by turning off wireless and it lasted for all I
had to do at work and at a meeting afterwards. This was not a issue with the
Apex rather then the owner.

Hope this helps,
From Shaz.
BN QT Apex and PK user.

| OK, maybe you do need to recalibrate, then ... It wouldn't hurt,
| anyway.
| Does your power tend to go down really fast and then seem to get
| "stuck" at 4% for ages? The Apex appears to have some sort of
| built-in monitor of the battery voltage (or something like that
| .. I have no idea what, to be honest) that allows it to give us
| the 3 critical battery warnings at 3, 2 and 1% respectively
| before the battery dies. (Which is rather nice, as on the MPower
| you had to keep an eye on the voltage a lot more)
|
| The power saving mode only applies to WIFI, I think ...
| Go options menu, connectivity, wireless (on), then press w, space
| through the wireless options until you get to power saving mode
| and y for yes.

| Yes, most of the time, I charge it up to 100 or 97%. I notice
| that the
| battery charge goes down way too quickly even if the WiFi and
| Bluetooth aare
| off.
| You mentioned the power saving mode, how do you do it?
| Thanks.

| Do you charge it right up to full (or at least over say about
| 95%)? Because the readings will be a bit misleading (too high to
| begin with) if you only charge it partially, my phone's battery
| is the same. Yeah, I guess recalibrating would make it guess the
| capacity more accurately, but there again if you only charge it
| like half way a few days after recalibration I'd say the readings
| will still go down fast.
|
| Otherwise ... Wireless being on all the time probably makes the
| battery go down faster (even with the power saving mode), I could
| be wrong about that but I think it would.
| But just using a large file shouldn't have any particularly bad
| effect on battery I wouldn't have thought.

| Hi again,
| Does anyone know if losing your battery charge pretty quickly is
| normal or not?
| I work with a big file and am doing a lot of word replacements.
| The Apex may go down from 41% to 4% real fast.
| If this is not normal, would recalibrating work?
| Thank you.
