Hi,
The reason I mentioned this one was mostly to give people a workaround for something that doesn't exist natively in KeyPlan: that of saving appointments via printing to a file when you cannot really save appointments from appointments list itself (whereas KeyWord allows saving documents in a different format while within the document). Also, back in 2010, there was no way of figuring out some things that we know now, such as accessing ROM files and such.
Apologies for any comments that could've caused confusion.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi Joseph, I hope this doesn't sound too nit-picky, but how is this an advanced tweak/trick? This functionality is built-into Keysoft and we
aren't doing anything out of the ordinary to get it working!

Cheers,

Grant

Hi Michelle,
Well, that was the old days when we didn't know about advanced
tricks. Since we know some tricks now, the file printing
procedure has become slightly easier: in fact, you can access
printed KeyPlan appointments list.
For others interested in this discussion, the steps for printing
to a file from KeyPlan and accessing the output file are as
follows:
1. From KeyPlan Menu, select Print/Setup.
2. Go through the setup list until "printer port" is displayed.
Select "file," press ENTER, then exit and confirm changes.
To print appoinments:
1. From KeyPlan Menu, select Print/Print.
2. Select the starting date by moving around the calenar.
Similarly, move around the calenar and select the ending date.
3. Answer "yes" at "printer ready" prompt. The appoinments
between start and end dates has been "printed".
To access printed appoinments:
1. From Main Menu, go to File Manager, then select "browse
files" (KeySoft 9.2/8.1) or "directory" (KeySoft 9.1/8.0 or
earlier).
2. Select Flash Disk/Temp directory.
3. Open a file called "print to file.txt". Once opened, you'll
see your appointments between start and end dates.
The above instructions will be uploaded to BN Users website soon.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Printing Planner Entries

Hi listers. I have to send my APEX away for repair, since the
dot 4 keeps jamming every so-often and locking up the machine.

So I don't miss appointments during that time, I am trying to
print them from the planner into a file. However, I'm not sure
how to locate the file. From a posting I kept from 2010, Joseph
stated that at the time, there was no way to access the file
directly from the APEX, but it had to be viewed on the PC via
KeySync or something else. I can't even get ActiveSync to work
properly so am hoping that keysoft 9,2 has come up with a fix for
this.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Cheers!

Michele
