Hello. I hope that this goes to the braille note list as well as the person who
I am replying to, I selected a message and hit reply all, so it will go to two
other listers.
First of all, I have my phone, which is a Verizon phone, a Samsung
Stratosphere, sending its Internet, mobile network, through bluetooth. I tried
to go to Bookshare, to which I am a member of, and the braillenote unhelpfully
said that it could not find the server, which contradicts the fact that
Bookshare is most likely to be up and running just fine, since I tried it
another time and the BN also said then that the server could not be found. So,
could it be Verizon blocking it for some reason? I tried it on the iPod and it
worked fine. I am not sure at this point what could be the problem, the
bluetooth connection, the old braillenote empower, or just my bad luck.
Second question is about braille tables. I once used the lovely English USA
table, but one day, after finding that it annoyingly cannot propperly show
mathamatic symbols like ≥ or even = or +, I fell in love with UEB. I use it
often for math, but I don't quite like the fact that it can't read books from
Bookshare correctly with speech, treating the to sign as an exclamation sign
and so on. So, is there a modified braille table of the USA table that can
handle math input and output correctly, or any lister-created table at all?
