Hi all,
I thought I would spend a couple minutes conveying some of my thoughts on the Braille Note line of products and what I speculate might happen in the very near future. Before I start though, I would like to reassure everyone that some of the things that I'm going to say here aren't meant to be offensive to anyone or anything direct about HW. Rather, they are said to simply make a point. As you know, a few companies have released a new note taker in the past couple of months. From what I've seen, many people have been quite interested in them, and some have bought them. This is a great thing, but as I watch all these people happy with their new product, I can't help but wonder about the Apex and what real value it brings these days.
As far as I'm concerned, the answer to that one is very little.
In fact, I haven't seen hardly anybody but one or two people buy an Apex in quite a few months. This, in my opinion, just goes to show the lack of feature set that HW has chosen to implement in this new generation note taker. Lately, the people I've talked too said that they've gone and bought the new Braille Sense from Hims or the other note taker from APH. Why is this? Well, it's simple! Those note takers have more value at a less expensive cost. IT's beginning to look like Hamanware is much more concerned about their money than what the customers want, which is a horrible way for an AT company to act. I'm not saying that that's what they think, but that's just how it looks. I feel as if Humanware has lied to us about what types of things we would get out of the Apex. They have so far broken many of their promisees to us users about what we would see.
On the other hand, have you seen what they've done to the stream.
The people that develop the stream have actually listened and took note of what the costumers wanted and made it available through one simple update. But for the Apex, it seems as if it could be four more years before HW releases an update that's even purchase worthy! AT this point, HW has two choices. They can either step up their game and deliver, or they can just assume discontinue the Braille Note line all together. Because I know this for sure. After a while, people te just going to stop wasting 7 thousand dollars when they can go out and buy a note taker that could potentially only be hundreds of dollars in the near future. That's all there is to it! Because right now, all what HW represents a to me as far as Braille Notes are concerned, are a bunch of lieing cheating sneaky thieves who had no problem taking our money, but don't seem to really have a grip on customer service and product value and can't keep up with the competition.
What are your thoughts? What do you think?
Will HW finally step up, or will the BN just go down in a car crash? I feel like we've done everything we can to talk to them and let them know and give them suggestions.
