Hi Jessica, it works because of the way paths are handled in the Windows CE environment. I think I was the one who sent this to the list, but it may have been someone else. The two periods indicate that you want to move up to the parent folder. So, suppose you wanted to access the general folder, you could actually type something like this: /dictionaries/../general/ It would seem that you want to access the dictionaries folder, but no: when Windows is reading that path, it sees that no, you are actually going back to the parent folder and then you're going into another folder, general.
What we know as the "system disk" is a collection of folders which are stored one level above the level where most of your documents and data are stored on the BrailleNote. So that's why going one level above where you are will take you there. For example, /../windows This has to be done while in directory mode, not folder mode.
