If it said "the folder does not exist" then you're in folder
mode, not directory mode. Press SPACE with T to remedy that.

I tried getting to the folder using the way you described. It
did
not work. It just said folder does not exist and it asked me if
I
wanted to make a new one. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Jessica, it works because of the way paths are handled in the
Windows CE environment. I think I was the one who sent this to
the
list, but it may have been someone else. The two periods
indicate
that
you want to move up to the parent folder. So, suppose you wanted
to
access the general folder, you could actually type something like
this:
/dictionaries/../general/
It would seem that you want to access the dictionaries folder,
but no:
when Windows is reading that path, it sees that no, you are
actually
going back to the parent folder and then you're going into
another
folder, general.
What we know as the "system disk" is a collection of folders
which are
stored one level above the level where most of your documents and
data
are stored on the BrailleNote. So that's why going one level
above
where you are will take you there. For example,
/../windows
This has to be done while in directory mode, not folder mode.

There is an easier way to find the system disk, should you want
to ... Somebody mentioned it on the list a long time ago. Go
to
directories and type"/../" (no quotes)
Then backspace
If you want the printer's folder I guess you'd have to go into
printer settings and then the change printer type thing.

It's worth pointing out though that you can't really *explore*
the keysoft system disk even using this method. For example,
you'll notice that the folder offered is "printers." But if you
go into the list of folders by pressing SPACE, you can only see
program files - you can't even see the printers folder!
Cheers,
Grant

You can't do it using product keys. Joseph was just saying he
wished we could. If you go in to the keyword menu and print and
than pick set up printer and change the printer type which is
one of the options in the settings list, then the next time you
go in to file manager, you will see a drive called backslash.
This is the keysoft system disk. If you use a different drive,
you will have to change the printer type again to get back to
the
keysoft system disk. However, If you have an older bn model
then
you can access it from the list of drives without changing any
settings. The reason why changing that setting on the apex lets
you get to the keysoft system disk is that the printer drivers
are stored there so the apex goes to the keysoft system disk to
set up the driver and because it remembers the last drive you
used, you can then get to the keysoft system disk from the file
manager.

How do you access the rom drive then?
