I called HW this morning to renew my service contract for the
Apex. And, although I'm guessing this is a reminder for most, I
had either forgotten, or didn't realize, that one could only
extend the service agreement for two years beyond the original
one year warranty. Thus, having purchased my unit in August of
2010, I renewed the agreement for the final year, and will
hopefully have no problems once that period is up and will be
able to save the $500.
Still talking about the service agreement process, HW sent me an
email confirmation within just a few minutes after I had placed
my order, and my credit card had the funds set aside for the
purchase just about the same time. I was told this could take a
day or two, but it all happened within about fifteen minutes of
my call.
Finally on this subject, my email contained a PDF attachment
confirming the item I had purchased and its effective dates.
But, wanting to save the email as an EML file, I opted to skip
downloading the message on my Apex and received it on my Braille
Sense OnHand. However, when I got the email, I couldn't seem to
access the attached PDF file with the OnHand, and had to save the
EML file and open it on my PC to then view and save the
attachment. If anyone is still reading this and received such an
email confirmation from HW on your BN, were you able to access
the attachment with your BN?
