I eventually had no problem with the upgrade. Meaning, I had no problems after trying a few times. But, for some reason, when using the Apex to download the upgrade file, it first gave me a strange name for the file. Then, after I deleted that file and tried again, I got a file with the correct name, but only part of the file downloaded. And, seeing as I had saved this file to my none folder on the flash disk, having only part of the file seemed to cause me real problems, as I wasn't able to read the Apex manual on my unit. I finally downloaded the upgrade file with my PC, and then used my computer connected to the Apex to erase that bad file out of my none folder. When I went back and tried to get the file with my Apex yesterday, after this time saying yes to disable scripting, the entire file downloaded without a problem.

Subject: [Braillenote] Keysoft 9.2.1 Upgrade

Hello. I am posting this inquiry to the list primarily for
Humanware staff, but anyone can feel free to state their opinion
on this subject.
I am starting to wonder if it is wise for bn users to upgrade
their machines to keysoft 9.2.1. Several bn users have
successfully upgraded their machines to this version of keysoft,
and everything has worked just fine. However, I have read two
emails on this list from two people whose machines have locked up
after installing the upgrade. Fortunately, I was one of the
lucky users who was able to upgrade successfully. This is only
my opinion, but I think that users running ks 9.2 should wait to
upgrade until this issue is addressed by humanware. The only
thing this upgrade does is supposedly prevent files on the flash
disk from becoming corrupt as easily. Hw also claims that it has
stability improvements, but I have not noticed any.
Josh
