Hi, I think you meant 4S... The status cell indicates various phone status. When a dot is up, it means that a particular setting is active, there are unread messages and so forth. The settings are unread messages, landscape or portrait orientation, speech muted, screen curtain on/off, battery is low and so forth. There is a dedicated iPhone list out there which talks about using iPhone from blindness perspective. It is called viphone, and a number of us are subscribed to that list as well. For future reference, I too have iPhone - in this case, iPhone 4S. Cheers, Joseph
