Hi folks, I've just picked this up. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Lewis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 23 October 2003 14:34 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Palmtop Computers Hello everyone, hope you are all well!!! I am a palmtop computer user. I use a Psion 5mx machine, which is cheaper than most note-taking machines, and there is software available to allow the system to read out what is being typed, or what is on the screen in the same way a screen-reader does. However, I do not use anything like this personally as I am fully sighted, I have seen how useful this system is at conferences I have been to, and also in using a mobile phone - there is a version of this computer that acts as a mobile phone and can read text messages, and read out what you are typing when you want to write one. Well, I thought I would bring a product to the attention of the group. A new palmtop computer or PDA has just been launched today by toshiba, and is a Pocket PC but has text-to-speech capability, as well as voice recognition. How limited each of these is I don't know, but I have included a website link below in case anyone is interested! thanks, Chris Lewis. http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/pc/pc_prodDetail.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@ @@1968253175.1066915714@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccchadcjjldjmdhcgfkceghdgngdgli.0&co mm=ST&plin=PDAs&pfam=PDAs&poid=263418&Adoid=140417 --^---------------------------------------------------------------- This email was sent to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?b1dlwA.b3klm5.ZGFycmVu Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] TOPICA - Start your own email discussion group.
