What I've done with my Bible is put place markers before the chapters so I
can jump to them, then search for the verse number. Of course this means you
have to put each book in its own file, and even break up some of the larger
ones like Psalms and Isaiah etc because there aren't enough place markers. I
would recommend breaking the files into a number of chapters that is easy to
deal with, like 10 or 20; that way you can be alpha-numeric with the
markers. Otherwise you'd get situations where chapter 27 had place marker a,
and then you'd be spending more time trying to figure out what you were
doing than you would actually looking up the Scripture.
