Maria The PulseData ScannaR is a stand alone ocr scanner. You can transfer files directly to the Braillenote. You first have to connect the Braillenote to the ScannaR via the serial connectors and then use active sync. Once you have active sync connected, you can save the document to the ScannaR's memory and it will then ask you if you wish to save a copy to the Braillenote. If you answer yes it will create a new folder on your Braillenote called reader and store it in there as an RTF file.
