Hello john, with regards to choosing a suitable printer, i think that by now
you're beginning to appreciate the related problems. I run two printers, the
Canon bj 85, and the hp 890c. Both of these are inkjet printers. I note that
when choosing which driver to use in the printer set-up menu, it is the same
driver for both the hp inkjet and lazerjet printers. Though I have no
difficulty with the hp printer in reproducing poundsigns, I have not yet
managed to get my Canon to produce them, no matter how I change the drivers.
The advantage of the hp over the Canon is a question of size. the hp uses a
vastly larger ink cartridge, which means, of course, that it seldom runs out.
Apart from this occasional happening, I find it needs no regular maintenance
and has, so far, given me little trouble. If you are using standard size
paper, a 4, for example, you should have no trouble. However, if you intend to
use quite small piece, such as bank cheques, you would be well advifed to try
another unit. Don Cooper.
