Kathleen, Typically, the pedestrian route arrival distance should be set anywhere between 20 and 50 feet. Vehicular route arrival distance should be set between 200 and 300 feet.
On my BrailleNote, I have the pedestrian route arrival distance set to 50. (Depending on the route I'm traveling, I may change this to 20 or 30.) For vehicular routes, the arrival distance is set to 300. In my experience, both settings give pretty accurate results whether I'm walking, riding in a car or taking the bus. Lisa
