Before putting any protector/saddle soap, etc, on anything leather it is wise to show it to a good cobbler. They are used to working with leathers, & in the event it isn't real leather, would be able to tell you before you might accidentally treat the case incorrectly. Also, they will be able to steer you to the right treatment for the case.
