Hi, Terri. They didn't offer to exchange and let me pay the difference.
They have other phones that have infrared, but these are the ones that look
like a PDA and they are even more expensive, but there was no offer for an
exchange. It was 350 dollars, take it or leave it.

I'm surprised Verizon doesn't have more than one phone model with an
infrared port, because it's a very popular and easy connection.
