Dear Paul, Usually cell phone companies will give you a period of days for you to try out the phone. Cingular gives 15 days and a friend of mine told me AT&T Wireless gives you 30 days. If your grace period isn't up, you could give the phone back and take your business elsewhere without paying a fee for breaking the contract.
I have been unhappy with my phone for months and I'm still shopping for a more accessible one. Sometimes, I wish PDI would offer accessible cell phones using special software or just modify a phone to work with the BN/VN. This isn't such a wild idea because the Mobile Accessibility web site has software called Talx which makes the cell phones talk when it is installed and Beyond Sight sells the modified version of the Nokia 9290 Communicator. The latter is extremely expensive and the former can only be used with certain models of the cell phones. But cell phones are almost as popular as the BN/VN, so I think it would be a good idea if PDI would come up with a cell phone solution, perhaps a version of Keysoft for the Symbian Operating System? I'd love to be abel to program my cell phone using my BN! That would be marvelous! Terri Pannett, Amateur Radio call sign KF6CA. Army MARS call sign AAT9PX, California
