Hi all,

I'm afraid I have another problem. I have subscribed to my mobile phone
network's GPRS service and am trying to connect using the BrailleNote.
According to the manual I have to enter an access point name (APN), which is
internet.be. I have created a directory of services including all the other
information such as primary and secondary DNS addresses, but of course there
is no field for me to enter the APN. Thanks to a saved message from
Jonathan I am using "Hayes compatible on infrared" and I have entered the
phone number "*99#", although there is no mention of a phone number in the
manual. When I try to connect with my mobile phone using the infrared port,
the BN says "log on successful" and then immediately gives an error beep and
says "disconnected". Apparently the message "GPRS access point invalid"
appears momentarily on the display of my phone (a Nokia 6610).

With sighted assistance I have given the name "internet.be" to the currently
active GPRS access point in my phone, but this has made no difference. On
Friday no one from my GSM network's tech support was able to help me and
they're supposed to call me back next week, but I was wondering if any of
you could give me any advice? Do you also need to enter access point names
for your GPRS connections? Is *99# used in all parts of the world? Any
help would be apreciated. By the way, I have finally purchased an Internet
router and so I should be well on the way to solving my cable modem problems
when I can find time to install it!.

Thanks,

Nicky
