Dear Paula,
It would be best to send your BN in for repair.  Don't know where you live, but 
some states have a lending program for adaptive equipment such as the BN.  
Possibly someone on this list knows more about this.

  I empathize with you.  Many years ago I dropped an expensive low vision 
telescope in the street, and a taxi flattened it.  In that case, I just had to 
have it replaced.  Seems like all you will need for your BN, is repair.
