Hi Paul, When that happens, press the get connected button in activesync again and immediately press the connect on the bn. If the bn times out first, press connect again and keep trying to get the two connected. It can be hard sometimes the very first time, but only for that first time.
You just need to keep them both trying for the connection. Also, be aware that the cable from the bn is a null modem cable and not a regular serial cable. What I do is to have a standard serial cable coming up onto the desk from the computer which is on the floor, and plug the bn's cable into that and then into the bn. That way it's easy to disconnect the bn cable if you want to take it somewhere, and it's also easy to disconnect it if you want to use the serial port for some other device.
