Hi, Jerry. I wonder how your bn could get switched on or off without your
knowing it? It has that thick velcro flap that covers it. I suppose that
even if one bumped that flap, the unit would remain in whatever state you
left it.
The only thing that I have seen is that after you charge your unit and when
you unplug it, sometimes, it says adapter off and remains turned on even
when the switch is in the off position. I have to turn mine on then off again.
I even just now tried pressing on the switch with the flap over it and was
unable to get it to turn on.

Dear List,
This is a suggestion for a power switch lock for the BrailleNote in the off
position. There are times when I find my BrailleNote on at the end of a
trip, when I know that the power switch was switched off at the beginning of
my trip. Indeed, traveling with the BrailleNote switched on could lead to
unpredictable results, including the loss of data.
Related to this suggestion is a second suggestion for a power switch lock
for the Braillenote in the on position. There are times, especially when
traveling in a car, when the BrailleNote could be accidently switched off.
This too could lead to unpredictable results, including the loss of data.
Note that some laptops do have switch locks, for good reason.
Sincerely,
Jerry Weinger
