Kirstin,

I really can't add anymore to what you have said. You took the words out of
my mouth. The one thing I will say, is I only wish, I didn't have to spend
over $1200 plus $1000 to get my unit up to date. That alone, is causing me
to rethink my choices. I have a real issue with companies who make
specialized units for blind people, and then charge the same amount or less
to bring the unit up to date. Plus charge over $500 for warranties that
don't even cover any of the hardware upgrade.

I don't care about going online with my BN, but, I am wondering why I should
pay that amount of money which I don't have to bring my three year old unit
up to date. If we have a computer for about four years, and we want to get
a faster one, usually, we go out and buy something cheaper than the first
one we had purchased years before. So, my BN sits here as a $5000 paper
weight. So, my advice to those of power would be to not only be honest and
put the details of the contracts for software and hardware on your web site
as FS does, but, make sure, this list is sent the complete details so people
like me, and probably others don't have to go through frustration. My Dad
took out a loan for my BN which I found out about later after he died. How
sad it is, to know, he did this, and here it sits on a stack of papers. If
I have gone too far on this list, than, I'll leave. But, these are my
feelings, and a good honest expression of good, or bad feelings doesn't hurt
once in a while.
Lynn
