If I understand your question correctly you can use the block delete command
in the planner just like in the wordprocessor.

I usually only have one or two appointments per week.  I also use the
Planner for to do lists, and notes.

I delete appointments after they occur, and do not keep previous year files.

On the subject of deleting, and, not just within the Planner, I would very
much like to be able to select x number of words or lines to delete at a
time.
