Thanks Crystal. I just checked it and Good Deal PC sells the 5 GB Toshiba
Microdrive at $165.00, against Synchrotech's $267.00 pricing.

BTW, Synchrotech is offering the 1 GB IBM/Hitachi Microdrive $116.00 off the
original price of $276.00 (so that would be $160.00) until December 5, for
those who are interested. But why do I get the impression that it connects to
a device via cf card, and you have to get a PCMCIA adapter to plug into a
PCMCIA slot like the one on the right side of the BN? OK, let me quote that
from the page:

1GB IBM/Hitachi Microdrive CompactFlash Type II + Hard Drive + Travel Kit
$276.00 PCM-MHD-I-512K Price includes $116 off offer expires 12/05/2003
512MB IBM/Hitachi Microdrive CompactFlash Type II + Hard Drive + Travel Kit
$97.00 PCM-MHD-I-340K
340MB IBM/Hitachi Microdrive CompactFlash Type II + Hard Drive + Travel Kit
$139.00WITHOUT TRAVEL KIT PCM-MHD-I-G1 Price includes $71.71 off offer expires
12/05/2003

Features:
 • Fully compatible with CompactFlash™ Type II (CF+™)
 • Transfer rates of up to 4.2 MB/sec. with 3600 RPM rotational speed
 • Fully compatible with ATA Flash Type II (PCMCIA) when used with Travel Kit
 • Giant magnetoresistive head, load/unload, Enhanced Adaptive Batter Life
Extender™ 3.0, TrueTrack™ servo

The description for the Toshiba Microdrive says PCMCIA Type II, not
CompactFlash Type II. Hmmm...
