thank you very much,  I had forgotten the  suppression process, and  understand 
it now.  I am however concerned that the os assumes or perhaps has to shut down 
one program while opening another one.  this is not tru multitasking, or am I 
missing something.

Actually, Londa and Brett, it's better to press S when you get the prompt 
asking if you wish to save the file as a Keyword document, especially if you 
really do not intend to convert it to a Keyword text file.  Pressing S is the 
command to Suppress the prompt.
To insert the result (answer) you got in Keyplus into the document, press CTRL 
with 5 (ENTER with I), then press C, followed by R.  If you want the whole 
calculation inserted with the answer, CTRL with 5 (ENTER with I), then press C 
twice.
