Hi, I shall post Martin Griffiths message in case you missed it, as he was my
trainer with the scannar'r and he will be able to give you more about the
technical details but all I can say is that I have been most pleased the the
scannar'r as I was also pleased with the kurzweil reading edge from Pulse Data
which I still have after 10 years and still use! Also, the scannar'r is a nice
compact size. HTHH. Sylvia. The PulseData ScannaR is a stand alone ocr
scanner. You can transfer files
directly to the Braillenote. You first have to connect the Braillenote to
the ScannaR via the serial connectors and then use active sync.
Once you have active sync connected, you can save the document to the
ScannaR's memory and it will then ask you if you wish to save a copy to the
Braillenote. If you answer yes it will create a new folder on your
Braillenote called reader and store it in there as an RTF file.
  Hope this helps
  Regards
  Martin Griffiths
