Hi Don and others

Should the unit be on or off while charging. This is my first time with a
unit of any type.
I want to charge it correctly tonight.

Hi Sharon,

Congrats on the new braillenote. You should probably charge it before
trying to run it off the battery very much. It will take 3 or 4 hours to
charge fully and
you can use it while charging although you might plug it in to charge and
wait a few minutes before attempting to use it.

You can check the battery level by turning on the bn, pressing space with o
or function with o (depending on which keyboard you have) and you should
see the display say Options menu. Then press p and you will see the percent
charged for the battery.

If you turn it on prior to the first charge it will probably work okay for a
few minutes just to maybe check it out, but I really wouldnt try to do much
until you
either have it on charge or fully charged.

Well it finally came. I got my new braillenote today. I don't think the
battery is charged. How long do I have to charge it. Can i use it while it
is charging or should I wait?
