Sharon, To use wireless on the BN, you need a network card. The type that works with the BN is a Type Socket Low Power Ethernet which has a cable coming out of it. The card fits into the CompactFlash slot on the back of the BN, but if you have the classic unit, you would have to buy an adapter for the CF card to fit into before putting it in the PC card slot on the right. The exact model type is in Appendix D of the User Guide for KeySoft 5. With KeySoft 4 and 4.01, the info is in the Readme for KeySoft 4 in the General folder on the Flash Disk, and this is the first release that supported networking. Even if you have the classic, I think it should still be able to work as long as you have an upgrade to at least version 4. You can buy the card from PDI, but it also seems places like socket.com sell it. You first have to set up the Networking through a serial or infrared connection of ActiveSync between your PC and BrailleNote, and then you can use Ethernet for faster surfing of the Web and download of email, as well as faster transfer of ActiveSync. I personally don't use this because I don't have a broadband connection, but the instructions for Setup are detailed in either Appendix D or the Readme, depending what version you have. In addition, the BrailleNote can be used with cell phones to connect to the Internet through the serial or infrared port. When setting up in Directory of Services, you choose "Hayes Compatible Modem" instead of "Connexent Internal Modem". You set up like a dial-up connection. You dial up with the number of your ISP unless your cell uses high-speed Internet from a certain number, in which case you put in that number. The cell manual or company that makes and/or sells the phone could probably tell you if this is the case. Hope I answered your questions okay. HTH. Maria
