Hi John,

Try going to the top of the block of pasted text and inserting a block marker.
Then, go to the bottom, and reenter the block menu. Press g for grade for
block (multilanguage users press l, select the language, and then select the
grade), and press b for grade 2. This is available in version 5 only. HTH,
Laura

>Hello listers.
>Recently while writing a paper, I had a very odd thing happen to me. I wanted
>to take some quotes from a few articles I had on my compact flash card and
>paste them into my assignment. I originally saved them from my computer as
>pocket word files (pwd) because I have gotten errors opening ms word
>documents, even when I try to save them as word 95 from office xp.
>I went into the block commands menu and did everything as usual. However,
>when the blocks of text were put into my file, they were not retranslated to
>grade 2. The braille note indicated this by saying "computer braille" at both
>ends of the block. Also, everything appeared in grade 1 on the braille
>display. But it gets even stranger. At any point after the bottom of the
>block when I continued to write in grade 2, the braille note began spelling
>all my words out letter by letter, even when I did a read word read all, and
>read sentence command. It recognized the contractions correctly, and I got no
>garbage like greater than or less than signs. At first I thought my braille
>note was just acting up, so I tried a reset but that did not fix the problem.
>Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is there anything I can do, or does
>the braille note only do back and forward translation from txt and regular
>word files?

>thanks for your help with this
