Dear Roselle,

I have already tried it with both Keybook and Keyword and it's just the
same.

I put all my files on a CompactFlash card, so memory space shouldn't be an
issue.

Why the feature works with my old BN but not my new one is a mystery.

I haven't used Keyweb yet. I download books and other .brf files from my PC
using the CompactFlash card and the CompactFlash card reader. Then I slip
the card into the BN. The file manager shows the right size for the files,
but if I try to open them without first importing them, I receive a blank
file.

Brenda, and I'm sure many others using version 5, we can open and read the
.brf files we have downloaded from Braille.org, Bookshare.org and the NLS
website just fine. I deal with .brf files often, both that need to be
unzipped and those that are downloaded not in a compressed form, and they
are not blank when I open them in either Keybook or Keyword.

I hope the problem doesn't have anything to do with memory space and file
size, where related problems vary from unit to unit.
