Don,
Lately, I have been receiving a measurable number of posts addressed both to
the BN list and directly to my own e-mail address. If I leave the BN list
right now, I will continue to receive list mail. I wonder if some listers
are replying to all, rather than just to the BN list. Check your To line.
are there other addresses along with the BN list address. Also check your CC
and BCC lines.

In addition to this, it would be helpful to know if there is a bug with the
actual BN list.

Sincerely,
Jerry Weinger

Subject: [Braillenote] list malfunction.

There appears to be a fault in the list management system; please can
someone try and put it right. I have just returned from a week's holiday.
So that I wouldn't be swamped with emails on my return, two days before
leaving, indeed on November 15, I applied to temporarily leave the list. I
was asked to confirm my wish, and this I did. I then received the customary
acknowledgment with instructions on how to rejoin; the usual automated
message. Imagine my surprise next morning to find 22 emails for
consideration. with only one day more to go before leaving home, I sent
another request to leave the list, this being now November 16. The usual
procedure was entered into, and I then received another automated message
acknowledging my request with instructions on how to rejoin. I have just
returned and find 195 emails awaiting my attention. We all know that when
this number of emails is in the system, the process of deleting or storing
takes infinitely longer than when dealing with smaller numbers. It'll
probably now take me several days before I catch up. Has anyone else
experienced this difficulty? surely I'm not being sorted out for special
treatment, but I recollect that when this new system came into operation a
few weeks ago, I had to make special application to rejoin the list. I
would welcome some reply from PDI, with an assurance, if possible, that this
fault has been detected and will be sorted out. yours, with a now
overloaded work schedule, Don Cooper.
