Hi Jane, I don't know what happened, but I've had that very same experience. It would be interesting to know what causes it.

For the past couple of days, whenever I was working with the BrailleNote, at any time, doing anything, the braille display would suddenly go very very faint--kind of like scrubbed Braille on a page. At first, two resets--one normal one with no keys held down and then one with 4-5-6 keys held down, would fix it. It was annoying but I dealt with it. Then, about forty minutes ago (it's now 1:22 PM at the writing of this email) it went all blurry and nothing would fix it. I did five resets (yes, I took note), actually ten total because I did two kinds of reset each time. But whatever I did, the display seemed to act worse than ever, and then the speech went all crazy! The very last reset I did, it made me specify the computer letterl language and all kinds of stuff all over again. I tried exercising the display once but had no luck. Then about five minutes ago, I decided to try exercising the Braille display once more, and the phone rang and I had to answer it. I let it run for about two minutes, maybe a little more (she talked a lot, just like I tend to do in ^ed emails <grin>) and what do you know? The problem seems to have solved itself. Does anyone know what the heck happened? Is there any way to prevent it in future? Does anyone have any ideas? Anyone from tech support listening to this? Thank goodness it didn't happen (as it did yesterday) while I was taking a test or working on a quiz! My math teacher was patient once, but I'm not sure she would be again. Anyhow, I'm relieved everything seems to be working propperly, but I just want to know what happened. Talk to you later.
