Actually, it does make sense to use the backslash when accessing an html file
that is on your local machine. At least, I think it does, where as whilst on
an actual web site you do use forward slashes. I don't know, but it makes
sense to me, since I see that the back slash is used for accessing material of
any type, whether it be html or whatever, with the use of a program which
allows one to enter an address on yor local device.
I guess you can say back slash is for looking within yourself, so to speak, and
forward slash is for moving forward to to someplace remotely? don't know.
Just trying to come up with an analogy that makes sense regarding backslash
versus forward slash. But, it is the same thing, say if you are in internet
explorer, and you want to access an html which is on your pc, you'd use the
backslash.

Hi all,

Dean, that's confusing as heck because most web pages use the forward
slash, but if that is how you do it...I do think, though, that perhaps
you may want to make the thing consistent throughout the BN. Reason
is, that in Windows, e.g. you always use the backslash when talking
about files and folders and the forward slash for web pages. This is
the normal way most people keep things straight. If it's done
differently, when talking about files on the BN, especially when all
other menus use the forward slash in their paths this makes life
totally topsy-turvy for users. It makes no sense!
