Hi Peggy,
A friend of mine is sending and receiving mail from her ISP by using my
BN. Her mail downloads beautifully! When she tries to send her mail at
the prompt, there are 4 messages to be sent, send now? Of course she would
send Yes to this prompt. When she does this, she receives a similar error
message whether she is on my phone line or going through my wireless
service. Her mail usually goes through when she uses the "connect to a
service" option in Keymail. She has to download any new mail that has
recently been sent to her account. Once the new mail has been downloaded,
her messages then go out. This is the only way her messages can be
sent. Since this is a temporary arrangement for her while she is here at
my home, I haven't tried to resolve things in a better fashion. When I was
visiting her in Denver, I had no difficulty downloading and sending my
Email. HTH

Hi, all. I have a situation that I haven't gotten resolved yet with the
BN and GPRS. I can download email beautifully, but when I try to send
mail, I get error 550, and am told it's not allowed by the
administrator. The weird thing is that both Don Bishop and I have ATT
Wireless, we both have Nokia 6800 phones, and we both have Earthlink as
our providers. He very kindly gave me all the settings he uses, including
changing the smtp server to
smtpauth.earthlink.net
and setting the smtp verification thing to yes. I've done all those
things, double and tripple and quadruple checked them, and still my mail
won't send. Have any of the rest of you had this problem, and did you
figure out any other settings that might work? I love the downloading of
mail, but there HAS to be a way I can send it too, and I can't figure out
how. I called Earthlink, and spelled and respelled the smtp thing back
and forth with them, so I know it's right, and Don is using it that
way. So either I'm overlooking something so disgustingly obvious that
I'll die of embarrassment when I find it, or there's some other difference
that's making my connection not let me send email. Can anyone help?
Peggy
