Hi. I hadn't thought of freeing up database space just after downloading mail.
Will have to try that.

Dear Paul and List,

I have found that it speeds up the move to trash and deletion of trash
if, after you have downloaded a lot of email, but before reading them,
to free data base space. Then, if you have trashed many messages free
data base space again after deletion of the trash. Since I have been
doing that, the process is much faster. Longer messages also takes a
few seconds more to move to trash. Note that you can also move messages
via the email action menu to other ccustom created folders without
opening the message first and that does not take long.

Thanks, Jonathan. I would assume that that would save me a lot of time
as I
would not have to delete all marked messages then remove them from
the trash. Is this correct? The longest part of dealing with a lot of
messages is deleting all marked messages.
Thanks.
