Hi Eva, I would try going to the main menu, by going chord 1 2 3 4 5 6 (all
keys held down basically) accept for the 7 and 8 keys, and then go to the
options menu and press p for the power level and see if it shows it to you
now both by voice and by braille display, it could be that you didn't exit
from the user guide and now you are going to the options menu and then
pressing p, and it only shows it to you by voice.
You're supposed to exit out of the user guide or any open app, such as
keyword or mail and then check it that way hence why I'm saying get to the
main menu and then go to the options menu and press p.
Hope this helps, I would say that if it does not though, yes then I would
return the unit unless anybody can give you any other suggestions which
would rest this issue.
Talk soon

Hi Peggy,

Thank you very much for your prompt answer and for your much needed
information! I appreciate it very much. One more question for you, please.
I went to the options menu and pressed p. The voice said the power level
but the braille display returned me to the user guide where I was reading
before the draining of battery thing. Then I went to the options menu again
and went option by option to the battery power option. I pressed next, it
didn't work. I did it all over again and pressed enter, it didn't work
either. It was returning me back to the user guide in both cases. Do you
think I should talk to the technical support people about that or do I cut
it short and return the unit? It's still under warranty. It's still
supposed to be brand new. I shouldn't put up with all this when it's
supposed to be brand new. Right?
                                                Thank you once more
                                                   God bless
                                                         Eva
