I would just put the whole thing as the last name. But I know what you mean. I really wish they'd fix the address book so there didn't have to be something in the last name field or even in the first name field for email purposes. I'd like to see it where we could just fill in the business name, and then when we wanted to look up a record, we would just go to the "business name" field and type in the name there to search for the record. And maybe instead of having the email be based on the first name, why not have an "email nickname" field", or maybe two such fields, where we can decide what we want to use for a nickname, and then it will fill in the name and email address based on that's in those fields. For example, I'm on the womentalk-chat list. In Eudora, I've used the nickname "gals", because it's short and sweet and chatty-sounding. But when I put the information into the address book on the BN, I had to use Gals as the first name, and womentalk-chat as the last name. So When I send a message to the list from the BN, the message comes out showing it's being sent to someone named Gals Womentalk-chat. If there was an email nickname field, I could type in my nickname of gals, then when I wanted to send a message to the list, the to field would just show the womentalk-chat list. And if someone wanted to have the National Federation Of The Blind in their address book, they could just put that info in the business or company name, and perhaps "nfb" in an email nickname field, and not have to worry about first and last names that don't exist for a company. And perhaps something like a global search field would be nice, in case we can't remember how we input the data for a record, we could search for "all records containing <x>".

Just some thoughts on an issue I've often wondered about and tried to deal with. <smile>
