Hi Sandi. As I indicated in my message just over a week ago, I fully acknowledge that the speed of development hasn't been fast enough and I outlined the steps we have taken to increase the pace of Development efforts. This is in no way a reflection on our excellent team, but rather on the lack of resources that have for some time been allocated to it, a matter now rectified. To present this as "feel-good" is disingenuous, since I outlined specific measures we've taken to ensure we're more responsive to user demand. You are probably right, you can get feel good from harry Potter, but sadly, we can't wave a magic wand and deliver everything we intend to overnight.
One such example of where we need to lift our game, which you rightly point out, is the issue of two SMA releases a year, a target we failed to meet. Because we didn't meet this commitment, KeySoft 5.1, despite offering a complete rewrite of the Planner, was given at no charge to all existing customers even though the functionality we introduced could have justified 5.1 being an SMA release. We did this as a way of acknowledging that the speed of releases has been too slow, and to give customers a free release as some small way of saying, "thanks for your patience". Yes, there are indeed a number of important errors of fact in the messages you describe as "information" however I don't intend to respond in kind by telling you about the many deficiencies of competitive products. If people have questions about the BrailleNote, and those questions are asked in a manner designed to elicit information rather than promote confrontation, I will be happy to answer them to the best of my ability. One thing I will say is this. We're not going to make the mistake of hyping a product long before it's released, then when it is finally released, find that it is so full of flaws that we have to release a new product just over six months after the first one, an entire new piece of hardware. We have a much expanded team on the case, dealing with the specific issues raised by you and others. That expanded team means that we will respond to the identified issues with the current platform and we will do so in a timely manner. You are right to be frustrated by the past and I've no way of changing that. I'll certainly be more specific when I can. In the mean time, I would suggest that civility might not be altogether a bad thing.
