Hi Lisa and others,

Sounds like there is a bit of confusion regarding the term "wireless" as Lisa
is using it here.

Lisa, from your description it sounds like you are receiving your internet
connection via satellite. This is certainly wireless, but it shouldn't be
confused with a
wireless network which is the connecting of two or more computers via a
connection which does not use wires, but rather communicate via special network
cards for each machine. This wireless network is what the braillenote does not
currently support. The internet connection via satellite is an entirely
different
thing and all computers including the bn are connected to the router or, in the
case of a single machine, the satellite modem/receiver via wire connections.

I'm pretty sure I'm interpreting Lisa's comments correctly here.

Hallo Listers,
I have learned a valuable lesson in the past few days. When the Braillenote
says error receving email winsock error 10057 it means (anyway for me) that
the Braillenote got stuck on a particular email and my Internet service
provider has to delete that email from their server. I know I spelled
receiving wrong
but that's how it appears in this particular error message.
Someone asked about my wireless broadband with the Braillenote. First off I DO
NOT have a wireless card or some software installed. I have the
Etheernet card from PDI attached to a Cat 5 cable and that's attached to a
router. The ISP set up an antennae of some sort outside on one of my window
sills (I live in the tropics so it won't get damaged by ice or snow) and the
Braillenote gets the Internet access and email from the router or the
Etheternet card
or something. The interesting thing was I did a hard reset and the Ip was
static whatever that means. I was surprised when the wireless capabilities
worked
again after doing the hard reset. I am also going to get dial up service from
the same ISP for a backup plan in case something happens with the wireless
broad band. Luckily I could still use my router for this since it has phone
jacks. The phone lines are awful in Guam so I'd have to get what is called
fixed
wireless from my ISP which would give me a nice clear dial!
tone to make dial up run more smoothly.
Now I apologize but I believe the ISP deleted the nice email that Roselle was
kind enough to send with the instructions for reading the first email in
contracted Braille. I would appreciate it if Roselle could email me those
instructions privately or to the list. Thank you for your time and your
assistance. I
have Keysoft 5.0 and a Braillenote BT model in case anyone was wondering.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Thank you for your help and your time in advance.

Lisa
