Hi Riana,

What is the format you are using to enter the position of the page, line, and
column positions? As I am unable to replicate the problem you are describing, I
have a feeling it might be the format you are typing. Here's what I do: At the
prompt "Go to which position?", I type, for instance, to go to Page 7 Line 5
Column 13: p 7 l 5 c 13. First, type in the p, just a lower case p, without a
dot 6; type dots 1-2-3-4. Then, type a number sign, dots 3-4-5-6. Note that,
after you type in the number sign, a space should automatically be generated
between the p and the number sign. Then, press the combination for the number
7, but DO NOT use the "dropped-down" form of the number (dots 2-3-5-6), as you
would use in US Computer Braille or the Nemeth Braille Code for Mathematics;
instead, to produce the number 7, use dots 1-2-4-5. Do not put a space between
the number sign and the 7. Now, after you have entered the 7, hit the SPACE
key once. Next, press dots 1-2-3 to produce the letter l. Again, it's a lower
case l, NOT a capital letter. Then, type a number sign, dots 3-4-5-6, and you
will notice, once again, that a space has been automatically generated between
the l and the number sign. Then, press dots 1-5 to produce so number 5. Then,
hit SPACE only once. Now, type dots 1-4 to produce the letter c. Type the
number sign, dots 3-4-5-6. Finally, type dot 1 to produce the 1, followed
immediately by dots 1-4 to produce the number 3; DO NOT hit SPACE between the 1
and the 3 because you want to have the number 13; if you were to hit SPACE, the
entry would be perceived as Column 1 c, and you would be told that the position
could not be found because it was an error in the form of entry which you used.
No matter which Computer Braille table you have selected, be it MS, UK,
Spanish, French, Italian, or German, this format will always apply because you
are using Literary Braille (Grades 1/2) to enter the sequence at the Go to Page
command. Note that the Go to Page command will only move FORWARD through a
document. This means that, if you want to go to Page 7, Line 5, Column 13, and
you are on Page 2, Line 17, Column 37, after typing in the sequence above and
hitting ENTER, you will be told "cannot find specified position", and will be
return to the "Go to which position?" prompt. To work around this, the best
and easiest thing you can do is to go to the top of the page, with SPACE with
dots 1-2-3, and then use the Go to Page command to find Page 7 Line 5 Column
13, and upon pressing ENTER, if you've entered the sequence correctly, you
should be taken to that position. If you had been at the Go to Which Position
prompt upon getting the "cannot find" message due to attempting to move
backwards through the document, you must first exit the prompt using SPACE with
E before going to the top of the document. HTH.
