Hi Frank, First of all, note that it is still better to delete the attachment on the e-mails by searching for them in Keymail, navigating to the Attachment field, and pressing BACKSPACE with C (CTRL with I) then Y to confirm deletion. If you delete the file in the Attachments sub-folder, the attachment field on the e-mail will still be there, but when you press ENTER on it, you will be told that the system cannot find the file specified. This is because you have erased the file being pointed at, but not the pointer.
Now, if you want to see the contents of the Attachments subfolder, follow Jim Taylor's instructions but remember that before typing /Keymail/Attachments in computer Braille at the folder name prompt, you must press BACKSPACE with J first for computer Braille entry, and at the file name prompt, press SPACE with X (READ with X) twice to view ALL file types. Note that some of the attachments you receive do not have extensions, or are foreign to Keysoft so you must press this command at the file name prompt in order to see them. If you see files named body.txt and body*.txt, where * is a number, open and read them first, then determine if you really want to delete them or if they contain the message body of e-mails you are absolutely sure you have erased already. Once you delete these files, and the corresponding e-mail is still stored in your database, opening those e-mails in Keymail will give you a blank message body, and they are not easy to retrieve even with backups (unless the backups were created right before you deleted these files) because the file names change with every backup session. Note that to erase files when you view the file list in Keyword, press BACKSPACE with C (CTRL with I), then Y to confirm deletion. When you're done going through the attachments in Keyword, erasing those you wish to get rid of, after opening them all to see if you wish to delete them, do the following: 1. Exit to the Main Menu and press F to enter the File Manager. 2. Press D for the Directory option. 3. Select the Flash Disk. 4. When asked for the folder, press BACKSPACE with J first for computer Braille entry, then type /Keymail/Attachments in computer Braille where the slash is dots 3-4. Hit ENTER. 5. Press SPACE with X (READ with X) to view all, including hidden, files. Without noticing, you may have received pictures or images as attached files (like .gif and .jpg) which usually happens with forwards and e-mails sent from a computer with background images. These cannot be viewed in Keyword, because they cannot be opened and read there. There are other files that you can only see in the File Manager (Directory option) like .exe. Thus, you must check your Attachments subfolder again for them. 6. If you find any of these and you wish to delete them (in the case of pictures and images, I really recommend that you do because there's no point in keeping them and they take up much space), navigate to the file to be erased and press BACKSPACE with C (CTRL with I) then type Y to confirm.
