I've only included the information for purchasing new GPS combinations, as I
assume this is what you're wanting to do. There is more content to both these
sources, but I've just pasted the information I figured you'd need in your
situation. There might be other places where you can get the GPS for different
prices, but those are the only two I know of. As you can see, the entire map
database comes with the GPS software (it's on 7 CD's), and there are some
additional countries available. You transfer the maps from the computer to the
BrailleNote, and you have several choices in doing this, such as ActiveSync, or
transferring to a Compact Flash card via Card Reader. The U.S. maps are 4.3
gigabytes, so if you want all of them on one drive, you would be best off with
a 5 gigabyte microdrive (a microdrive goes into the CompactFlash slot of the
BN, or if you have an older motherboard with no CompactFlash slot, you fit the
card into a CompactFlash card adapter which you can buy at computer stores
before inserting the adapter into the PC card slot on the right). Also, for
your information, the SporTrak is a commercial GPS receiver, made by Magellan I
believe, but it comes with the package, or you can choose whether you want to
buy it with the package, depending on your source. I don't have GPS myself,
but as I'm thinking of purchasing one as well, I've downloaded the appropriate
manual for my BrailleNote model, so I can get an idea of what the system can
do. From reading the manual, I gathered that the specific accuracy of the GPS
depends on what you're doing with it. If you want to download the manual, go
towww.pulsedata.com/products/notetakers/braillenote_manuals.asp, and you'll see
a link to both the BrailleNote/VoiceNote BT and BrailleNote/VoiceNote QT GPS
manuals in plain text format. You just click on the link of the manual that
applies to you, and you can then download and read it if you want.

The email address for Technical Support of Pulse Data HumanWare [EMAIL
PROTECTED] Also, since I'm sure prices aren't always put on the Internet
immediate after they change, it's best to contact the company before
purchasing. The prices above are the most current I've found, but if you go to
the websiteswww.pulsedata.com andwww.senderogroup.com, and click the "Contact"
link on each of these, you'll get contact info you can use to check what the
most current prices are. Hope this helps.
Maria
