I couldn't agree more, the file manager on the bn plain and simply stinks. I
encounter nothing but frustration with it. Even if you just put an item to
open the file you are selecting, that would help.

This is an excellent list, and I have learned from the experts.
Now, for my fondest wish. Long before I was a Braillenote user, I was
(still am) a Windows user. What I long for is a file management system
that more resembles Windows Explorer. I'm probably hugely outnumbered
here, but I'd love to go to the file manager menu, press D for directory
and right from that file list do all of my file management.
Deleting, renaming, copying and moving without having to go through all
of the menus.
Another thing I'd like is a file and folder structure that makes sense.
I would like to simply move through a directory and land on a folder
within that directory and simply press Enter and be given access to that
folder.
Finally, I would like to permanently set my Braillenote to view all
files.
Thanks.

Subject: [Braillenote] My Braille Note issues

Hi. I seem to ask questions and answer them myself eventually most of
the time. I want to than those people such as Doug, Maria, Bob, Brian,
etc who welcomed me, and people such as Rachel, Karen and Stuart who
have tried to answer some of my questions. If either you, Karen, or
Rchel want give me any private phone numbers off-list, feel free to do
so. I've known Mary Ellen Earls for a long time, but I haven't seen her
in years. It was shocking to hear from others I've known such as Brian
Zolo and Bob Acosta. There are others, and this information's personal
and irrelevant.
Anyhow, I'm finally writing e-mails on my Bn 18, and I love the fact I
can I can write in Grade 2 Braille without worrying about translation
problems like with my Braille Lite arsmilear. I have a tendency to
write too fast and the keys stick.
Anyway, I looked inthe manual which I have mixed emotions about, and I'm
wondering if someone can walk me through how to fill out a sampe form.
It appears as if there's an extra dot in my display coming from
somewhere. I know my cursor is to the right of each word which I don't
mind, but where's this dot coming from? Hmmm. It could just be the
cursor appearing inthe word as I write argrinar.
Anyhow, I hope people don't get too upset with me for my next concern.
I received my Braille Note on the #be0th of March, and I've likeeaffned
quite a bit on my own, considering. I've had a couple nice
conversations with Also from tech support. I work in customer service
with Amtrak, and my job doesn't afford me much flexibility in waiting
long periods of time to get help. I get up early, and usually I've had
to wait too long and haven't been able to get some major help I've
needed. Anyway, maybe Jonathathan, whom I had the pleasure of meeting
at Csun in Los Angeles or someone can enlighten me on this situation
with Pulse Data tech support which I don't plan on depending upon, but
from what I understand there might be just maybe two people answering
calls all day. I could be wrong, so please let me know. I think this
list is fanqstic, but sometimes I want to talk to someone directly, and
I may not want to bring a particular problem I can't handle to the list.
That's m
y choice, right? We're all spending lots of money for these great
products, and I feel taken aback when I've had a couple major problems
that hven't been resrved in what I considered an even reasonable period
of time. I don't need instant gratification but I'm new, eager,
intelligent and when something's explained to me the right way, it
clicks immediately. So much for my soap box, and I apologize if I've
offended anyone.
I hope to be helping others inthe near future. I'm keeping a file of
the posts I feel are important to me. This is about the best list I've
been on.
